The Infinite A-line Dress Pattern (fits girls sizes newborn to 8 years) gives you everything you need to release your inner dress designer! With three skirt choices, five sleeve options and two pocket styles, you get the tools to create an infinite number of unique dresses for your little girl; your imagination’s the limit! If you’ve been searching amongst the free patterns on the internet, you’ll probably realize that they’re not all they’re cracked up to be. This pattern includes 11 pattern pieces that can be used to make an unlimited number of gorgeous little dresses.

While most of the dresses pictured here were made using woven fabrics, you can also use this pdf sewing pattern to make a simple dress out of knit fabrics! I’ve even created several video tutorials with detailed instructions to help you through every step of the way. The basic pattern could keep you busy for years but it also comes with instructions for LOTS of style options. It seems that girls of all ages (even us mamas!) find joy in wearing a pretty dress and this pattern is a great way to sew one up for the sweet little girl in your life.

Check the blog for tutorials on how to use this pattern to recreate just about any A-line or gathered skirt dress that catches your eye. You can find the following tutorials already posted and I’m always adding more: circle skirt with zipper, ruffly pinafore maxi dress here and 4 gingham versions herefloor-length with lace overlaypintuck yoke and puff sleevestiered skirt with bias tape trim, a reversible version and a baby top. All you need is some pretty fabric, a few notions and a sewing machine to create the perfect party dress or some cute outfits for every day.

Some of the style options in this pattern include sleeveless, short or long sleeve, ruffles to add to the skirt pieces, button placket, pockets, and so much more! You’ll have lots of options for making the gorgeous little dress of your dreams. I love to collect inspiration from Pinterest and then use this easy dress pattern to recreate a new look!

As you can see from some of the examples linked above, I love to use pretty prints with cute dress patterns like this one. But solid fabric also makes a perfect dress for your little princess and often is more of a classic style. You can use the long sleeve choice for a warmer winter dress or the flutter sleeves option for a lovely summer dress.

PDF patterns are my favorite way to sew new projects. This digital pattern has been revised to feature trimless pages (no more cutting!), layered sizes (so you can print only the size or sizes you need), a better fit and full-color, step-by-step photos and instructions. Pattern can be printed on standard 8.5″ x 11″ (US size) letter paper or A4 size paper. Be sure to read the instructions before printing.

Once you check out, check your email for the download link or log into your account here on the site to download at any time (if you don’t see the email, be sure to check your junk or spam folders). I can’t wait to see what you make with this easy pattern. Happy sewing!

I absolutely LOVE this pattern! It is very well written and super easy to follow. It could be great for a beginner or for a more experienced seamstress because there are so many different variations. It is a great “starting point” to customize and add on to to create your own custom pattern too. I have only made ones far but I have a few more on my to-sew list (especially the pinafore hack 🙂 Thanks for a great pattern!

I love the Infinite A-line Dress. There are lots of combinations and awesome links to see other options online. The tutorial is well put together and easy to follow. A beginner could sew this up in one of the simpler combo’s and then add more options as they get more confident.

I am probably an “intermediate beginner” here, not a totally newbie, but I don’t know a lot of formal sewing techniques or terms. This pattern was great! It did take some real mental focus, but I totally made a cute dress and learned a lot along the way. And it was quick, only took me 2 nights of working on it. The youtube video tutorials on her channel help a lot too! I wish there was a place to post pics here because I’m so proud of the way my 4 year old’s dress turned out!! I plan to use this again for dresses for both of my girls in the future, attempting the more complicated ruffles and hacks 🙂 Thanks!
