striped top white pants

Hey guys! You know I’m a sucker for on-trend fashion, especially wearable pieces that are mom-friendly and comfortable! Read on for my top FIVE pieces that are popular right now, including links to some great finds AND sewing patterns for my creative girls who want to make their own versions!
In these photos: Tab-sleeved Blouse, Linen Pants, Sandals in black and blue, transparent bag splurge and deal, one of my favorite pairs of earrings.

Joggers

These pants have been going strong for a couple years now and I hope they NEVER go out of style! Elastic waistband, blousy in the thighs and tapered or cuffed at the ankle make them every mom’s dream pants. Grab a pair in white and black and you’ll almost never need to buy pants again! They’re also perfect for the fluctuating body phases of early pregnancy and postpartum. Here are links to some of my favorites:
The pair I’m wearing here are SO comfy! I recommend sizing down.
This chambray version is SO CUTE!!

Wide leg pants

Another comfortable, pajama-like style that I could wear every single day and not get sick of! I’m seeing these in silk, linen and rayon as well as stretch knit. You really can’t go wrong no matter what fabric you find.

Dolman short-sleeve button down

This is hands down my favorite top for postpartum months and, let’s face it, any other time of life too. It’s cool, loose, trendy and can be found in a million prints and colors. Plus it’s super easy to sew up, if that’s your thing.
Striped version in two colors! So cute with just about any bottoms.
This one is under $20 and comes in a million prints!
More gorgeous prints and this one has a fun twist detail
PATTERNS: Willamette Shirt (I’ve already made two!) and Sutton Blouse (not a button down but still super versatile)

Wrap Dress

Is there any silhouette more classically flattering than the wrap? Diane Von Furstenberg knew what she was doing! It’s popping up everywhere again and I’m not mad about it. The trick for me is finding one with enough coverage in the bust and a length that goes to the knee. Check these out!
This one is under $36 and comes in several prints
The gingham wrap dress of my dreams!
A ruffled version that is SO beautiful and feminine
PATTERNS: Callie Dress (under $6!) and Summer Dawn Wrap Dress plus check out this roundup of lots more!

Jumpsuits

It’s been a hot minute since I proclaimed my undying love for jumpsuits but the obsession remains. One-step dressing with the modesty and comfort of pajamas? SOLD.
THIS!!! I’d probably wear with a colorful undershirt and bask in its fabulousness.
More chambray and ruffles!
PATTERNS: Brice Knit Jumpsuit and Gimlet Boilersuit

Honorable mention goes to shirtdresses, wrap skirts and high-waisted everything. It’s a great time for fashion, both ready-to-wear and handmade with so many trendy sewing patterns!
