Ah, nothing like those last few months of pregnancy to light the fire under your chubby buns to finish all those projects on the to-do list!
One of those projects was making a new bag to store my cross-stitching supplies. Up until a while ago, I kept my latest project and threads in a ratty old gift bag. Sad, right??
(Back in college, my creative outlet of choice was cross-stitching . It was handy since I could do it crammed on a trashy old couch with 5 roommates while watching some chick flick we’d seen 100 times. Or Gone in 60 Seconds. I’ve always been partial to a good action movie…especially with awesome muscle cars. My husband pretty much hit the jackpot in that regard.)
Enter: this freaking adorable sewing-themed fabric and the awesome Super Tote pattern by Noodlehead! Boom.
I decided to go all out with the colorful vibe so I used this fun yellow print from Ikea for the lining. Plus some red straps and I’m in love!
Even though I could’ve just done a simple tote for this project, I impulse-bought this Super Tote pattern because it’s got so many great details! Check out those inside pockets!
Plus a recessed zipper, outside pocket with piping and sturdy straps…did I mention that the straps are the perfect length? Well, yeah. If I get another 20 minutes before this baby comes, I’m making a new diaper bag with this bad boy.
Even though I used a simple quilting fabric for the exterior, the pattern has lots of tips for making it more durable with lining and interfacing. I think it’s gonna last forever! Aaahh, finishing stuff feels good!
