Gingham is still going strong as a trend in women’s clothing and we’re loving it! But it’s not always easy to figure out what to wear with it. Read on for tips on how to style a gingham skirt and ensure you keep it looking grown up!
Hey all! Lightweight summer skirts have been on heavy repeat lately and I’m always looking for unique ways to wear them daily without looking overly dressed up. After all, if it’s not an outfit I can wear while wrangling kids to the dentist, then it’s not for me!
I actually grabbed this skirt and the blue striped version a while ago and just love them! I feel like they can be styled very similarly and my favorite pairing is with a brightly colored graphic T-shirt. In fact, bright graphic tees are pretty much my favorite tops for every day! Throw one on with jeans, shorts, flowy skirts, pencil skirts, you name it!
My struggle with this skirt has been figuring out what tops have the right proportion to wear with it since the skirt is so full. Even though this T-shirt is a bit bigger, I think it still works. I do definitely have to fully tuck it in though, to make sure there’s some definition at the waist and that cute bow is visible!
Another option for tops to wear with a full skirt like this are bodysuits! They stay tucked in, look sleek and smooth and balance out the big poofy proportions of a skirt like this.
This skirt is almost sold out but I found several more adorable printed skirts that could be styled similarly here, here and here. You can shop the rest of the look via the widget below!
