As a small business owner myself, I’m a HUGE fan of encouraging people to support other small businesses, especially those owned by women. Check out this list of amazing, mom-friendly clothing boutiques that can help you find the wardrobe of your dreams!

Is getting dressed your least favorite part of the day? Some days it’s hard enough to just hop in the shower and throw something on with all these kids running around and needing me, but when I feel like my closet is filled with clothing I dislike (or doesn’t fit correctly), it’s even harder to accomplish. And if you’re a new mom, you’re probably acutely feeling the pain of dressing an unfamiliar postpartum body.

In this post, I’ve linked to some of my very favorite female-owned clothing boutiques that cater to mom fashion. I hope you’ll check them out and consider supporting them (us!) next time you need a wardrobe refresh. And as much fun as it is to dress little girls (I have 6 of them), there’s nothing quite like finding the perfect clothing piece for YOURSELF. Whether it’s a pair of skinny jeans that perfectly tucks in your belly, a basic tee that you can wear with everything or a gorgeous special occasion dress with easy access for nursing, sourcing stylish mom clothes requires some serious research.

First of all, decide on some of your favorite looks (do you love casual wear? business? boho?) and then scroll through a shop’s new items to see if you and the boutique would be a good fit. Cute mom outfits tend to be a handful of things: easy to wear, super comfortable, well-fitting, and great for your body type. Don’t get distracted by cute items that don’t fit your style or shape (and don’t forget a good pair of cute, comfortable shoes).

A few must-haves for any mom’s wardrobe include a top quality diaper bag (I like the ones that look like regular backpacks), snarky graphic tees that skim your curves instead of clinging, and maxi dresses that offer lots of coverage without looking frumpy (throw on a denim jacket for extra warmth and style).

Amazon is great for replenishing your face cream but when it comes to clothing, I much prefer to buy from family-owned small businesses that put countless hours into sourcing, photographing, describing and packaging their products. In my experience of owning and operating my own clothing boutique, as well as meeting and networking with other female boutique owners, choosing a small shop is probably the best and easiest way to give back to your community, stimulate our economy and support incredible women. Plus, small businesses generally take customer service very seriously and making shopping with them a great experience. I love taking any chance I can get to help build someone else’s dreams.

Read on for a few of my favorite stores!

1. Novalie: Colorfully bold clothing for moms

Obviously I had to start with a little shameless self promotion. You can check out all our new arrivals here or read this post for some behind-the-scenes on why I opened a clothing boutique (even while pregnant with my 9th kid) and some of my dreams for the future. Plus you always get free shipping when you spend $99!

2. J Lynee Boutique: Cute and comfy for the everyday woman

This cute shop has nothing but comfy, cozy everyday pieces that will take you from poolside to Target to naptime!

3. The Mud Dress: Boutique Styles from a mom, for a mom

I love the bright colors of this shop’s inventory plus so much great jewelry.

4. Gypsy Oak Boutique: Real Women. Real Life. Real Style.

Gypsy Oak has some fantastic everyday mom-wear. From comfy shorts and dresses to tops with the perfect style detail.

5. A to Z Boutique: Providing confidence to women through easy to wear clothing & handmade accessories

Some of the comfiest dresses I’ve seen around and a couple of jumpsuits that I need asap.

6. Boho Pretty Boutique: Everyday styles that will make you feel comfortable and confident

I love when a shop name tells you exactly what to expect and this one is totally pretty boho! Plus the model’s smile makes me want to buy everything so I can be that happy too.

7. The Rusted Buffalo Boutique

Bright cute tops, pajama-worthy T-shirt dresses and cute accessories. What more does a mom want??

8. Payton Piper Boutique: Instilling confidence through clothes and community

This gorgeous boutique gets all the points for extended sizing (including models of all shapes) and beautiful photos.

9. Curvology: exclusively plus-sized

Anyone else tired of seeing plus-sized clothing that’s basically the ugliest stuff on the planet? This boutique proves that you don’t have to dress boring or weird just cause you’re curvy.

10. Heritage Co Boutique: Being true to your own style

Beautiful, comfy pieces that look so fun to wear- plus amazing accessories!

I hope you found a new favorite shop (or 4) and that you get to feel amazing about supporting another woman’s hard work. Running a boutique is the second hardest thing I’ve done (right after motherhood, obvi) and every order gives me butterflies. Stay tuned for more roundups of amazing shops out there.
