This chevron quilt for a baby is fresh, sweet and perfect for a little boy! The ocean inspired hues and simple pattern will have you making this cute gift for all the little ones in your life.
Before Dean was born, I grabbed a jelly roll (pre-cut strips of fabric) at the fabric store in these pretty blues and aquas and just knew I needed to make my new baby boy a quilt! The problem was that I wanted it to be simple since I’m not much a quilter and have no patience for crazy intricate patterns.
I found this cute chevron quilt online (she even sells a pattern for it if you’re interested) and loved it so much that I decided to try my hand at it. Her instructions are pretty basic but were enough for me. I’m even thinking of putting together a video for this technique – let me know if you’d be interested in that!
After just a few afternoons of cutting and piecing, the top was ready to go. I was also too lazy to go back to the store to find a fabric for the backing and decided instead to use some leftover minky in this gray arrow print. I wasn’t positive the two patterns would work but hey, I went with it! The binding is store-bought bias tape which also took almost no time to slap on.
Overall, a really simple and straightforward project with pretty colors! And I think baby Dean looks just adorable on it.
So what do you think? Should I make a step-by-step video tutorial for this project??
