I’m kinda, sorta mildly obsessed with leopard print. I have been for a loooong time. The only article of clothing I was sad to leave in storage, when I left for my church mission almost 15 years ago, was a raggedy thrift store leopard print coat I bought on my meager college student budget. It’s just a really, really fun print!

Leopard is also TOTALLY a neutral, if you ask me. Goes with everything. Especially these fun faux leather pants and the handbag that’s made of synthetic leather! I admit, these things are a bit edgy for a 30-something mom of a bunch of kids. But they are unbelievably comfortable. Plus, they were only $15 so, not much of a decision at all, really.

While we all love wearing leather sometimes, the need to condition your leather is one that can cause a lot of unwanted stress. As I’ve explored this fun leather trend a bit, I’ve noticed a couple things, and I think these apply to both faux and real leather…

*Leather definitely makes anything into a statement piece! I try to keep it minimal…these pants being the exception, obviously. I love it as elbow or knee patches or as sleeves on a top!
*Leather also reflects lots of light, ergo, it draws the eye toward it. This might be important to remember when dressing areas you don’t want to emphasize 🙂
*Lastly, leather can also be very warm! This is my favorite part of the thin leather leggings I own during the winter, but I have a feeling I’ll be packing them away come May.
