If you’re lining a bodice, you need to learn this magic trick of a sewing technique.
Check out the step-by-step video for a professional finish!
We’re back with another handy dandy instructional video for the Infinite A-line Dress Pattern! Today we’re learning how to do the “burrito roll” technique to fully line a bodice with no openings. I LOVE this technique because it’s like a little magic trick that makes any sleeveless or cap-sleeved bodice look super professional. You can use this technique on Views A, B & D of the Infinite A-line Dress or any other dress with the armhole opening exposed.
One note on this technique, it can be extremely difficult or even impossible to make it work on very small sizes like newborn, 3mo or 6mo. For these super small sizes, I recommend cutting the placket opening before lining the bodice so that you can turn it right side out without having to struggle with this technique on a teeny tiny bodice! I’m working with size 12mo in this video and it’s a bit tricky but totally possible.
