If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve probably seen me talk about the Sew What Club. It’s the brainchild of Kelly from Sewing in No Man’s Land and it’s GENIUS!
When you subscribe, you get 1-2 brand new patterns every single month designed by Kelly &/or a featured designer. You can choose between either children’s patterns or women’s and the subscription is way cheaper than buying the patterns individually! (Psss…one of those featured designers is me! Can’t wait to show you what I’m working on for January’s women’s pattern. I’m in love with it!)
This Cocoon dress was released to Club members for the month of October and it’s SO cute!! I love the blousy shape, hi-lo hem and shoulder ruffles. Plus it takes absolutely no time to sew, especially if you choose to leave the ruffles, hem or sleeves raw. Plus it works perfectly with scuba knit, which is a sturdier, smooth performance knit that many don’t know what to do with.
This neon pink fabric was the same stuff I used for this pencil skirt and it’s my favorite! Evidently, though, I need to work on my neon photography skills since the color doesn’t come out half as bright and fabulous in pics.
I’ve also had this black and neon pink trim sitting around forever and I’m so happy I found a place to use it! In fact, I might have to make a top just like this for me since I just can’t quit neons.
It’s like 1988 all up in here.
