I can’t believe Christmas is almost here!  We went WAY smaller on Christmas gifts and expectations this year and it’s been making me so happy!  And now that my list is pretty much wrapped up, I get to sit back and enjoy the last few days of anticipation, baking and Christmas movie watching with my kids.

I’m a Type A mom who’s always going somewhere and doing something so it’s so good for me to stop and enjoy family life without distractions.  Is anyone else like this??

I’ve got an adult-only party tonight as well as the day after Christmas, plus some New Year’s Eve festivities in the next week so I’ve been looking for easy, casual holiday looks that still look nice.  And I’m LOVING this one!

High waisted black denim helps camouflage the too-many cookies I’ve been eating, while the muted red of the jacket and heels lends a Christmas-y vibe without looking like a Christmas tree.

I’m also loving the round, structured bag trend and this one is a VERY affordable version, plus the flowers kind of remind me of Christmas poinsettias.  I snagged this simple, oversized short sleeve white button down the other day and have been wearing it with everything.  Such a great staple for year round wear!
