Today I get to show you the pretty pink version of the baby quilts I made for the little nugget! This one took a lot longer than the boy version but I love it.

I’m hugely into pairing pastels with black and white, and also metallic gold and polka dots and geometric shapes and…well all of it! I used See Kate Sew’s triangle quilt tutorial and pattern. It was a lot of fun to put together. She has the tips of each point of the triangle clipped off so that you get perfect points every time. It is always easier to use a tutorial or pattern to help you, especially if you are fairly new to quilt making. You might want to use these free quilt block patterns if you are planning to make your own quilt at some point.

As for fabrics, I bought the multi-color abstract print, pink and turquoise flannels and gold dots (big for the front triangles and tiny ones for the back) on fabric.com. The rest was hanging out in my stash.

The bias tape is my favorite part! I’d been thinking about vertically striped bias tape for a while and finally figured out I could make it if I found fabric with black and white stripes printed on the bias. I bought mine also at fabric.com and pretty much bought out their stock so I’d never run out of it! Haha!

I did find this one on Spoonflower though. It looks pretty identical! And if you’ve never made bias tape before, Dana of Made has this great video walking you through it. It was fun to make yards and yards (and yards) of it. In fact, my mom’s making a quilt for Marilyn too and I pretty much made her use the same bias tape cause I’m obsessed!

Obvs.

I also finally printed myself some labels! I used Spoonflower (per this tutorial) and made some bigger ones for quilts and smaller ones for clothing. I also bought size labels off etsy and now my clothes look all legit!

Check out that face. I die!!

And I promise Marilyn likes it…she was just concerned about other more pressing matters (so to speak) in this picture. Like being squeezed to death by big sis Vivs.

Isn’t girly stuff fun??!
